in similar news, starbucks cups seem to go to the floor of the back seat of my mazda to die. (at least until it gets warm and they start to smell).

Coffee cups are recycle-ABLE, people. I mean, not that. I mean to say FLAME-able. So there is no need to let them die, when you can offer them as living sacrifice.
